How many tools do I need?
Each separate content section on your site will need a separate tool. Content sections are often tied to your site's navigation, so the simplest way to choose your tools is to look at the individual pages and sub-pages on your site. In most cases, Audio, Video and Photos can each be handled with a single tool. The number of Text tools needed will vary greatly depending on the number of text-based content sections that you want to control. The Events and Newsbox tools are very similar to basic Text tools, but include specific options pertaining to events listings and news postings. How do I access my tools?
When you sign-up, you'll be given unique login info for the Boomerang Hub. You can access the Hub in your web browser (no installation necessary), where you'll have direct control over your unique selection of tools. The Boomerang Hub includes step-by-step instructions for setup of your tools, as well as helpful documentation on how to get the most out of your plan.
How soon will I be able to start using my tools after I sign-up?
Once sign-up is confirmed and your account is created, you'll be provided with unique login information for the Boomerang Hub. Upon login, you'll be able to setup and order your custom tool set. Once we receive this order, you'll receive a message from our automated service queue letting you know when your tools will be live. We guarantee that your tools will be active within 30 days of sign-up (probably sooner). In the meantime, you can prepare all of your content in the Hub so that it's ready to go once your tools are live. It's actually a very simple process and you'll be given step-by-step instructions along the way.
Do I have to install anything?
Nope. Boomerang works through your web browser, so there is no software to install and no specific server/platform requirements. All you need is a modern web browser and an internet connection. Boomerang officially supports IE 6 or later on PC, Firefox on Mac, PC, Linux, and Safari on Mac. Javascript should be enabled in your browser. We do not support IE 5.x on the Mac or PC. If you have IE 5, we recommend switching to Firefox — it's modern, fast, compatible, and free.
My site doesn't have Audio or Video, but those tools look great! Can I use them?
Currently, the Boomerang tools can only work with existing site content. You can't create new content sections or pages with these tools. This holds true for all content types – Audio, Video, Photos and Text. If you're interested in adding new content to your site, we can prepare a custom proposal for new site development/additions. Depending on the layout of your site, it may be simple to add new tools and content. Contact Us.
How much does this cost?
That depends on how many tools you choose. There is a one-time setup fee of $30 per tool and a small monthly charge which varies depending on your plan. Take a look at the Pricing Options page to learn more.
Is there a long-term commitment?
Boomerang plans are completely flexible. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel your plan at any time within the Boomerang Hub. The associated monthly charges for your plan will change automatically at the next billing cycle. One-time setup fees of $30 per tool will be applied to any new tools if you upgrade, and there are no refunds on setup fees if you downgrade or cancel your plan.
What happens to my tools if I downgrade or cancel?
You simply won't be able to access them through the Boomerang Hub. If you reduce your number of tools or cancel entirely, the associated content will remain on your site, exactly as you left it the last time you used the tool(s). There are no refunds on setup fees if you downgrade or cancel your plan.
Can I pay in advance?
Nope. All Boomerang plans are billed on a monthly basis. That's what makes it so flexible.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards though our secure online payment page. We only accept online payments at this time.
I'm not a BDG client...can I use Boomerang?
While this v.1 release of Boomerang is available only to current BDG clients, we plan to launch future versions for developers that can be used on any website. Please sign-up for our mailing list if you would like to be notified of future Boomerang releases.
